RT high-resolution UHV-AFM/STM

Room Temperature AFM/STM

The home-built room temperature AFM/STM (RT AFM) is designed for the study of molecule/surface interaction, growth of 2D materials on surfaces and oxydes or ionic crystal surfaces. This microscope is equipped with a UHV preparation chamber and an analysis chamber.

Optical detection for cantilever oscillation is achieved with a 4-quadrant photodiode. Light for the optical detection is emitted from a superlum diode with a red wavelength (678,5nm) and introduced in UHV via an optical fiber. At the fiber output, in UHV, laser beam is focused with the help of optical lenses.
